Hefei, China – Feb 2018

The 1st 2018 Choral Conducting Charity Workshop was successfully held on 2 – 4 February 2018 by the World Youth & Children Choral Artists’ Association (WYCCAA) with the support from Chinese Music Education Magazine, “合肥市民合唱團” and “安徽溪橋教育文化有限公司”.

 

6 top-notch choral experts, namely Prof. Leon Shiu-wai Tong, President of WYCCAA, Dr. Zoltan Pad from Hungary, Prof. Ragnar Rasmussen from Norway, Ms. Urša Lah from Slovenia, Prof. Bao-lin Yan and Prof. Jin-ming Zhu, conducted a series of activities. The Workshop attracted 800 registrations and 10,110 views of the wechat post. 520 choral teachers, students and music lovers from 104 cities near Anhui province took part in the Workshop. They explored various professional theories as well as practical demonstrations by choirs from Hefei. The Workshop covered topics encompassing the art and theory of choral conducting, training methods, the philosophy of Kodály and many more. It also discussed the outstanding choral pieces from Hungary, Slovenia, Norway and other European classics.
